Inter-Guild Competition
Our PPGPB vs Miami Guild Competition will be held at the Miami Guild Meeting location (Professional Photographers Guild of Florida) on Wednesday, August 13, 2008 at 6:45PM.
Miami Guild Location
Jaycees Building
2930 Hollywood Blvd
Hollywood FL 33020
Directions
From either I-95 exit, head west past the train tracks and make the first legal U-turn. Head back east toward I-95, staying in the far right lane, and just before you get to the tracks turn right on Jaycee Blvd, the lane before you get to the train tracks. The Jaycees building is then the second structure on the right, after the railroad museum. If you begin to drive by the golf course on the right you have gone too far.
Due to the weird location of the Jaycees building, you will not be able to make an accurate Internet map (which may show it on the wrong side of Hollywood Blvd)! But if you change the Google map from Street or Map view to Sattelite view and look at the streets and building close up, the directions below will make sense. For your map search use "Hollywood FL railroad museum", look on the south side of the Blvd. at the second building. Of course, you can also try 2930 Hollywood Blvd, Hollywood FL 33020.
Although it has a Hollywood Blvd. address, the building IS NOT on Hollwood Blvd. It is behind the railroad museum (which is across the street from the Amtrak station). The Jaycees building is geographically close to the southwest corner of I-95 and Hollywood Blvd.
Parking
We ask early arrivals to park in the grass with the Board members, then occupy the paved lot, and there is also parking along Jaycee Blvd. We plan to have a volunteer outside to help members find the place and parking.
Networking
While sessions start at 7:30, please join us after 6:45 PM to meet fellow members, chat about professional issues and make new contacts. In addition, time permitting you can join members after the sessions, within the Jaycees building, for further chat and cheer.
Drinks are available!
PPGF regular sessions and meetings are held on the 3rd Wednesday of most months at the Greater Hollywood Jaycees.

How Do You Get Your Name Known
When No One Knows Your Name
Betty Huth and Ed Booth, both Master Photographers and Photographic Craftsmen, will share with you the successful techniques they used when they moved their successful studio from Los Gatos, California, two and a half years ago to Brandon, Florida – just outside of Tampa. Their methods of attracting new business are easy, affordable and will give even the seasoned professional some ideas to help jump start the new year. Come learn the secrets that have made them recognized as the Business of the Year 2007 by the Riverview Chamber and Finalist in Small Business of the Year 2007 by the Brandon Chamber.
Betty has been in the photography business since the early 1980s and has served the profession on the local, state and national levels. She is a Certified Professional and has had her images accepted into the prestigious Loan Collection. Ed began his career after high school and is also a CPP. He most recently served on the Board of the California Professional Photographers. Together they have taught internationally and at seven of the PPA affiliate schools.
In economic hard times, this is a program you will not want to miss.
